Amphibious Operations
In amphibious aircraft, you establish passenger-carrying currency in SEL,
MEL, SES, or MES depending on land or sea takeoffs and landings. These
instructions are for amphibious aircraft only, not for seaplanes.

Setup:
<ul>
	<li>From the
		<a class="lnk1" href="/console/ZConsole.jsp?zconsm=ACVIEW">aircraft definition</a>
		screen, select <b>Amphibian</b> from the Land/Sea drop-down.</li>
	<li>Create
		<a class="lnk1" href="/console/ZConsole.jsp?zconsm=FLTCSTFLD">custom flight fields</a>
		of type Integer, named (exactly) <b>Day Water Takeoffs</b>,
		<b>Day Water Landings</b>, <b>Night Water Takeoffs</b>, and 
		<b>Night Water Landings</b>.</li>
</ul>

Operation:
<ul>
	<li>When entering flights, enter total takeoffs and landings in the Times section
		as usual. Then, enter any water takeoffs and landings in your new custom fields.</li>
	<li><b>Example</b>: For a flight with 3 land takeoffs and 2 water takeoffs, enter
		<b>5</b> as your number of takeoffs in the Times section, and <b>2</b>
		in the Day Water Takeoffs custom field.</li>
	<li>Your currency calculations will automatically reflect your amphibious
		activity.</li>
	<li>Use the
		<a class="lnk1" href="/console/ZConsole.jsp?zconsm=FLTPREFS">Flight Preferences</a>
		screen to configure how you want your amphibious time categorized.</li>
	<li>For pure seaplanes, none of this is necessary. All activity will count as
		SES or MES.</li>
